Manuka and kanuka blend: 
In Dunedin, the manuka flowers bloom for two months from around the end of December, while kanuka blooms three weeks later, between mid-January and mid-February. As they grow in the same areas, the bees naturally blend the two together to create a stronger tasting honey with a slightly bitter after-taste. Manuka is known for its medicinal properties and could be very good for boosting immunity. It has recently been discovered that kanuka may be just as good as manuka and is also good for external skin ailments. We keep our manuka and kanuka hives along the coastal Dunedin areas of Waitati Valley, Mihiwaka, Silverpeaks, Leith Valley and Whare Flat. 

Bush honey: 
Our bush honey is a mixture of spring flowers that grow in the wild. The hives are kept in the same locations as our manuka and kanuka hives. Spring flowers that bloom in October and November (tree fuchsia, lemonwood, five finger and hawthorne) are naturally blended by the bees to create a sweet, fruity-flavoured honey. 

 

Clover honey: 
Especially creamed white clover honey, is a classic New Zealand favourite. Our clover hives are situated in the hills and pastures between Palmserston and Dunback along the Pigroot and in Kyeburn in Central Otago where the whitest clover honey in the world is produced. Known as 'grass honey', clover grows during the late hot summer months of January and February and is a naturally sweet and neutral tasting honey that is enjoyed by any taste buds. 

Thyme honey:
Our thyme honey has been sourced from Alexandra in Central Otago where the wild thyme grows in early spring. It is also a stronger tasting honey with a distinct herb flavour.
